2022 - The Co-op 75th Anniversary

2022 sees the Gloucester & Severnside Co-op Bowls Club reach 75 years of age, our Club History page traces the club and local bowls history.

On this page, we'll post words and photographs of the journey through our 75th season.

Jubilee Celebration

We hosted Royal Forest of Dean on Saturday 4th June and as part of the Jubilee Celebrations five of the ladies baked special celebration cakes and as you can see Marcia and Margaret really entered into the spirit of the occasion.  The game was very friendly and enjoyable with both teams scoring 84 shots each, what a way to end the day.  As part of his thankyou speech, Roy, as Captain of the Month entertained us with a joke and also proposed a toast to the Queen, the captain of RFD was then presented with one of our anniversary gavels. 

Opening of the Green, 16th April

The weather was very kind to us for our traditional opening match against Caer Glow.  A year ago we had been using hand warmers to see us through the day, this time we were using sun lotion.

We had a big turn-out of players for our anniversary photo shoot.  Through the season we'll gather photos of those who could not be there and aim to have a photo of every anniversary year member on this page.
