Last Man Standing Rules

It’s pretty simple:

• For every round of games, you pick a team to win their match,
• If your team wins, you progress to the next round of matches,
• If your team draws or loses, you’re eliminated,
• You can only pick a team once during any ‘run’,
• The last player standing takes the prize pot.

 
You can let me have your team selections by completing the Team Selection Sheet and mailing it to me, or mail me.  You can make your team selections for as many weeks in advance as you wish; just make sure you have submitted your team selection for the next round of matches before kick-off of the first match.
 
This season’s matches are being played on Friday – Monday; you need your selection submitted by 8pm on the Friday.  Be aware, there are two mid-week rounds in December; your team selection needs to be submitted by 8pm on those Wednesdays.
 
That’s about it; the words below deal with every eventuality I can imagine; the last sentence covers those I cannot imagine.

Team Selection
For each week of the Premier League season, select a team you think will win their match.  If the team you select wins their match, you progress to the next round.  If your team loses or draws their match, you are eliminated and take no further part.
 
You cannot select a team more than once in any ‘run’ of the competition.

• Your team selections must be entered by the time/date below.
• You may enter your team selections as far in advance as you wish.
• Matches are played on Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday of most weeks.  Your team selection for that weekend MUST be made by 8pm on the Friday. 
• There are two sets of Wednesday fixtures in December.  Your team selection MUST be made before 8pm on the Wednesday
• NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
• NO REMINDERS WILL BE SENT.
• Failure to submit by the deadline brings elimination.

 
Fees & The Prize

• £1 to enter
• Half of all fees is donated to the club charity, Dementia UK at the time of writing.
• Half of all fees is the prize for the Last Man Standing
• If there isn’t a single player left, there will be a rollover.

 
The Rollover
If there are no players remaining in the competition (ie all players have been eliminated before there’s a Last Man Standing), there will be a rollover and all teams will be made available for selection.  A further £1 entry fee is payable to join the rollover.  New entrants will be able to join on payment of £1 plus a further £1 for every rollover (eg if there have been two rollovers, £3 is the new player entry fee).
 
What If…..

• A match is postponed or abandoned – you will receive a ‘bye’ to the next round.  However, when the match is played, that result will be retrofitted which may mean your backdated elimination.
• The season finishes without a Last Man Standing – it will rollover to the new season.
• There isn’t a rule covering the situation in question – I’ll make it up.
